Research
My research falls under three main themes.
Click on the arrow for my full publications list.
Preferences and rationality. Fundamental research on how we can more accurately model social preferences or bounded rationality by factoring in psychological factors such as concerns for altruism and fairness, or errors and limited reasoning depths.
Cooperation and conflict. Armed with insights on preferences and rationality, we can better design mechanisms that induce cooperation or resolve conflict in human interactions, e.g. organ donation, fundraising, teamwork, business or legislative bargaining.
Religion and society. Understanding how a person's religiosity and religious affiliation influences behavior, especially towards others who are similar or different in this respect. My recent work further establishes the joint influence of religion and other social identifiers.
Opinion. Some of my thoughts on practical economic matters.
