About me

I am Associate Professor of Economics and Research Director of the Economic Growth Centre at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Since 2000, I have taught at Bachelors, Masters, MBA, and PhD levels in Oxford, Frankfurt, Nottingham, and Singapore, and have held various strategic management roles such as Assistant Chair (Internship, Exchange, Alumni, and Communications) and Research Director of the Economic Growth Centre at Nanyang Tech, Director of UG Industrial Economics at Nottingham, and Founding Director of The Centre for Research in the Behavioural Sciences and CRIBS Lab.

My research studies economic behavior by blending techniques from game theory and experimental economics with insights from psychology. It is published in journals such as American Economic Journal: Microeconomics, European Economic Review, Economic Theory, Experimental Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, and Games and Economic Behavior, and has been covered by The BBC, Guardian, New York Times, and El Pais. I also publish opinion pieces on public policy for the Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao.

I have served the community for example as Member of the Editorial Board at Journal of Economic Psychology, and Executive Officer of The Association of Christian Economists UK. I actively advise government, non-profit organizations, and growing businesses on using behavioral economics to effectively pursue their goals.
